Sven Wejsfelt Retro- spective Exhibition In Sweden!
A short while ago I had the pleasure to visit Stockholm again, or to be more exact - Gustavsberg - just north of the Swedish Capital.
The reason for this was to give some last minute assistance to finish the final preparations for the first Swedish retrospective exhibition of the works of Sven Wejsfelt.
It is held at the Gustavsberg Porcelain Museum until the 2nd of May 2010.
Our gallery – Simplymodern - in Copenhagen, had the honour to arrange the very first retrospective exhibition, in 2007, of this world renowned master ceramicist, and with him present at the opening. While Sven was extremely proud that it was held outside of Sweden, he was at the same time slightly sorrow that his native country wasn’t first to recognize and appreciate his great achievements. (As you know, he passed away last year, but he knew that this retrospective exhibition in his hometown was in progress.)
And now it’s time to celebrate him at the Gustavsberg Porcelain Museum.
There are hundreds and hundreds of his most beautiful objects on display. A true feast for the eye! An event not to be missed. Welcome to Gustavsberg.
And of course welcome to our gallery in Copenhagen!
